Brainfood for R.E.A.L Financial Professionals
My sabbatical is over.
I got so much accomplished and it's because my brain had time to rest.
One of the more significant emails I received was this one from the CFP Board of Standards...

I don't know the outcome of this meeting, but I look forward to the conversation.
Why do I share this with you?
Because I believe it is a lesson in trying and not fearing failure.
Maybe they accept my program "as is";
Maybe they ask for changes;
Maybe they outright reject the idea.
Who knows?
Exactly my point--I wouldn't unless I tried.
My question for you friend is:
What do you need to try?
Maybe it's time for you to make the leap into the financial services industry. I can help you inside The Advisor Growth Accelerator™️. Although it has already launched, reply "ACCELERATOR" if you'd like to be added to the waiting list for future offerings.
The CFP Journey...
I've talked extensively about this.
I recently conducted a poll on LinkedIn around this topic.

There are probably 3 questions in your mind depending on where you are in your journey:
What educational program should I use?
How hard is the exam? What if I don't pass on the first try?
Will my CFP journey result in the career I want?
Am I right?
This clip is from a video where I talk about my journey as a CFP.
Would you like my help to answer the questions that are coming up on your journey?
If you're serious about receiving help, I've created a survey to help you. When you complete it, I've got a surprise 🎁 for you.
My most popular post...

Career transitions are often full of uncertainty, but they’re also rich with hidden gifts.
On January 4th, as I watched my daughter begin a new chapter in her life, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own journey into financial services.
It wasn’t always smooth, but along the way, there were “silent blessings” that shaped my path:
A mentor who saw potential in me when I didn’t.
A failure that turned out to be the best redirection I could ask for.
A chance conversation that introduced me to a designation that would change my career.
These blessings weren’t flashy, but they were powerful.
They helped me grow into the professional—and person—I am today.
Here’s my challenge to you: Take a moment this week to reflect on the silent blessings in your own journey. Who or what has helped shape your path?
What’s one hidden gift in your career that’s made all the difference? Drop a reply or share your story with me—I’d love to hear it.
Dom's Coaching Corner: "Let Me Know How This Works"
I challenge my clients to do this exercise to help them become part of the top 1% of successful people.
Here are the rules:
Suspend unbelief. If you sabotage yourself with negative thinking this will not work.
Make a list of the top 10-20 things you would like to accomplish over the next 90 days. Your list maybe shorter than 20 but should be at least 10 things.
Circle the things that have the greatest potential to change your life (if accomplished) so that your life will look drastically different at the end of 90 days. (Hint: It will be no more than 20% of your list. So if your list is 20 items, it should be about 4 things you circle.)
Order that list from hardest to easiest. (Hint: All of the items should be difficult to accomplish. That's the point.)
Take the rest of your list of items and put off working on them for the next 90 days and only concentrate on the 20% of your list from #4.
A key to making this happen is the discipline to time-block your calendar with chunks of uninterrupted time each of the next 12 weeks to work on your list. (Hint: Do your list at the beginning of your day while your brain is fresh.)
This method is called employing the 80-20 rule.
The idea is that we often spend too much time working on the 80% of our list that will not substantially change our lives. However, focusing on the 20% that we avoid (for various reasons) will have an exponential effect once completed.
Here's the question:
Would you like to be a part of the mediocre many (those that work on the 80%) or a member of the fantastic few (those that work on the 20%)?
